HOW LONG DOES THE REFUND TAKE?

The processing time is determined by the Inland Revenue Department and takes approximately 45 working days (9 weeks). If your return has not been processed in 10 weeks we can contact the IRD and request the call centre staff to look at the return - this sometimes results in the return being completed immediately.

Some reasons it may take longer:

• If you have any complicated issues your return may be referred for a manual calculation by the IRD computer system.
• If you are expecting a large refund (e.g. over $2000) the return may be referred for a checking process.

When the IRD have processed the return it is sent to MyTaxMan where it is checked by us. If there are any errors we need to detail these in a letter to the IRD which may add additional time to the refund process.
